Shyster & Ted DiBiase. Angle time. Jack Tunney announced that the Natural Disasters had monopolized the title shots and gave the new heel tag team a chance at the straps. Sherri Martel was at ringside during the match and distracted the referee long enough for the Natural Disasters to interfere in the match, helping IRS pin Hawk for the win. Speculation varies that the LOD are in fact bailing out of the WWF, or that they will regain the titles at WrestleMania (afterall, with Ric Flair winning, and Roddy Piper losing, Vince will have to have a face title win to make the crowd happy.) - This weekend's WWF syndies will have the aftermath of the Saturday Night's Main Event from last week. As you recall, Jake Roberts was skulking behind the curtain at the end of the show saying something like "It's not over yet." Well, it was and it wasn't. That was all that was taped on the night that his match with Randy Savage was taped. But on a later night, the WWF taped the rest of the post match angle that will air this weekend. As Elizabeth makes her way into the dressing room, Jake jumps out to deliver a chair shot and the Undertaker makes the save. - At the last set of tapings, Sid Justice did run-ins on several Hulk Hogan matches to attack the Hulkster. Sid's abandoning Hulk and this further action will be the reason that Hulk drops out of the title match at WrestleMania to be replaced by Randy Savage. There is talk that this change will be announced this weekend. - The beginnings of the line-up for WrestleMania in Indianapolis on April 5th has: - Ric Flair vs. Randy Savage for the WWF Title - Hulk Hogan vs. Sid Justice - Jake Roberts vs. Undertaker - Roddy Piper vs. Bret Hart for the IC Title - WCW was negotiating with Marty Janetty and Shane Douglas about bringing in the pair as a face tag team. But Marty Janetty was just arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia as well as resisting arrest with violence a couple of weeks back. The incident took place in Florida. The WWF has suspended Janetty. No word on whether Kip Frey has decided to stop pursuing this idea. - Although reports vary, one thing is certain: Mr. Hughes has been suspended by WCW over some out of the ring incident. Differing reports have the suspension at a couple of weeks or indefinite. - Conan will start with the WWF this summer. - Jushin Riger injured his ribs a couple of weeks ago, and although he will work SuperBrawl, there's some doubt about what his health will be at that time. - The tentative line-up for WCW's SuperBrawl PPV on February 29th has: - Sting winning the world title from Lex Luger - Ricky Steamboat vs. Rick Rude for the US Title - Steiners vs. Bobby Eaton & Arn Anderson for the Tag Titles - Jushin Riger vs. Brian Pillman for the Lightheavyweight Title - Dustin Rhodes & Barry Windham vs. Larry Zbyszko & Steve Austin - Ron Simmons vs. Cactus Jack - Terry Taylor vs. Marcus Alexander Bagwell - P.N.News vs. Mr. Hughes - Young Pistols & Diamond Dallas Page & Vinnie Vegas vs. El Gigante & Big Josh & Mike Graham & Johnny B. Badd - Tom Zenk vs. Richard Morton - Rumours persist that Lady Blossom will start working for the WWF (even though her husband, Steve Austin, works for the competition). - Finally, I've pretty much finished watching my newly acquired old Japanese wrestling. One of the highlights since my post about the Dump Matsumoto vs. Chigusa Nagayo hair vs. hair match was a spotlight on the original Tiger Mask. After watching a couple hours of Tiger Mask, I was quite impressed. He was pretty wild, although I still think that Jushin Riger puts together a better match -- meaning that Riger gives us a match with some high spots, while Tiger Mask gave us some high spots with a match, if that makes sense. It was kind of neat realizing that I was in my mid teens when these matches took place. Main matches of interest to net fans would be Tiger Mask vs. Dynamite Kid from 1981. This was Kid before he bulked up on steroids; sure he was muscular, but he was probably 220 pounds. Kid was great. The other really wild match had Tiger Mask & Tatsumi Fujinami & Kengo Kimura vs. Dynamite Kid & Bret Hart & someone who I didn't know. Imagine seeing Kid, Hart, & Fujinami 10 years ago - Kid before he roided himself into oblivion, Hart before the juice too, and Fujinami before all the back problems. Herb...
