Totalling the syndies, the TBS shows, Starrcade, the Cactus Jack vs. Eddie Gilbert tape and the Portland tape I have to watch, I've got some 20+ hours of wrestling to catch up on.} - Jimmy Snuka has apparently been let go by the WWF, with his final appearance being the Royal Rumble. - The WWF will once again team the Warlord and the Barbarian. I guess that this is supposed to maintain the conservation of teams since the Rockers are splitsville. - The WWF's Royal Rumble PPV takes place on January 19th. The Rumble entrants are: 1. Hulk Hogan 11. Hercules 21. Kerry von Erich 2. Undertaker 12. Big Boss Man 22. Greg Valentine 3. Roddy Piper 13. Rick Martel 23. Shawn Michaels 4. Ric Flair 14. Colonel Mustafa 24. Marty Janetty 5. Sid Justice 15. Tito Santana 25. Warlord 6. Randy Savage 16. Skinner 26. Barbarian 7. Jake Roberts 17. Repo-Man 27. Jerry Saggs 8. Jim Duggan 18. Ted DiBiase 28. Brian Nobbs 9. Sgt. Slaughter 19. Davey Boy Smith 29. Berzerker 10. Jimmy Snuka 20. Irwin R. Shyster 30. Virgil Also on the card will be several matches: - Bret Hart vs. The Mountie for the IC Title - Legion of Doom vs. Natural Disasters for the Tag Titles - Sheepwhackers vs. Beverly Brothers - New Foundation vs. Orient Express I would think that the added matches are telling us that a heel will win the Rumble, most likely Ric Flair. I would bet that the two title defences will come after the Rumble, with the faces winning to send the crowd home on a happy note. This will also give some quality interview time for Flair, and likely Hogan. - WCW's SuperBrawl takes places on February 29th and will no doubt be headlined by Lex Luger vs. Sting for the WCW Title. - On January 5th in Atlanta, Bret Hart defends his IC strap against the newly turned Shawn Michaels. - Dr. George Zahorian, the infamous urologist who faced a federal jury in June for distributing steroids to many notable pro-wrestlers, was sentenced to three years in prison in Harrisburg, PA, on the weekend. Zahorian was also fined $12700 and will serve two years probation after his jail term which is scheduled to start on February 3rd (at least he'll still get to watch the Royal Rumble). Of course, George's lawyer is planning on appealing the conviction and is once again throwing Hulk Hogan's name around. Zahorian was convicted in June, after his "Jamie Astaphan" defence failed (named for Ben Johnson's trainer. You know the defence: "They're gonna get the drugs somewhere, and it's better that a doctor gives them clean stuff, than they use bad stuff from the streets. I did a public service."), but the trial was somewhat marred by the fact the judge let Hulk Hogan escape testifying after Hogan's lawyer presented a sealed motion. Zahorian's lawyer wants Hogan on the stand for the retrial. No wrestlers faced charges because buying steroids was only made illegal in February of 1991. Herb...
