I'll still post a text version to the newsgroup, but it will obviously be missing links and images. The [Image] below signifies an in-line image. In this edition, I've also got some links to more info or images. I've checked that the page looks nice in Netscape and in IBM OS/2's WebExplorer; your browser mileage may vary. } [Image] Shiro Koshinaka delivers a brainbuster suplex on IWGP champion Nobuhiko Takada during their 03/01/96 title match. * WCW has Uncensored on Sunday. Line-up looks like: o Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage vs. Arn Anderson, Kevin Sullivan, Ric Flair, Lex Luger & others in four cage matches o Road Warriors vs. Sting & Booker T in a Chicago street fight o Konnan vs. Eddie Guerrero for the US Title o Diamond Dallas Page vs. Booty Man o Steve Regal vs. David Finlay o Loch Ness vs. Giant o Madusa vs. Col. Parker What used to be a PPV with three or four likely-to-be-good matches has been transformed into a card with at most two likely-to-be-good matches. Sigh. * Talk is that WCW will abandon the name "The Final Solution" for the latest heel du jour. My only comment about this whole mess is that while everybody was complaining about the name, seemingly not one person bothered to complain about the fact that another untalented stiff was immediately brought into the upper echelon of the promotion. There are many gimmicks in pro-wrestling that would offend a sizeable percentage of a thoughtful population and, IMO, wrestling in North America would be improved without them and likely begin improving its stature at the same time. * The WWF has WrestleMania on 03/31/96. The projected line-up has: o Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels for the WWF Title in a 60-minute marathon match o Diesel vs. Undertaker o Vader & Owen Hart & Davey Boy Smith vs. Yokozuna & Ahmed Johnson & Jake Roberts o Goldust vs. Roddy Piper o Ultimate Warrior vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley o Steve Austin vs. Savio Vega The pre-game show will include: o Bodydonna vs. H.O.G. & P.I.G. for the WWF Tag Titles o Huckster vs. Nacho Man with Billionaire Ted as referee * The local paper ran an article talking about Owen Hart being very unhappy with his position in the WWF. It might have been the same old "my brother gets all of the attention shtick" or maybe it was something more. * The Observer reports that Fatu will turned in a gang character and team with Samu again. So much for "making a difference." * New Japan's Tokyo Dome Battle Formation takes place on 04/29/96. My * New Japan's Tokyo Dome Battle Formation takes place on 04/29/96. My Japanese friend Masaki reports the line-up: [Image] o Nobuhiko Takada vs. Shinya Hashimoto for the IWGP Title o Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Genichiro Tenryu o Road Warriors & Power Warrior vs. Steiners & Scott Norton o Jushin Liger vs. Great Sasuke for the IWGP Jr. Title (Jushin Liger came out of his 03/17 match with Shinjiro Otani with the belt) o Great Muta vs. Hakushi o Randy Savage vs. Hiroyoshi Tenzan o Lex Luger vs. Masahiro Chono * The nightly news ran a short story mentioning that Mexican wrestler Super Barrio has entered the US Presidential race, mainly as a protest to preceived racism in discussions of immigration amongst the current politicos. [Image] Chris Jericho dropkicks Jushin Liger * The Observer reports that Jushin Liger, Black Tiger (Eddy Guerrero), Wild Pegasus (Chris Benoit), and El Samurai have formed the New Generation Four Horsemen in New Japan and are even using the four fingers gesture. * Nitro beat RAW in the Monday night wars on 03/11 with a 3.2 rating (4.7 share) against a 2.9 ratings (4.2 share). The details are an interesting read. * WCW has Slamboree on 05/19/96. [Image] * The WWF has In Your House on 05/26/96. The show has been moved from Barrie, Ontario, to Florence, South Carolina. * WCW has Great American Bash on 06/16/96. * The WWF has King of The Ring on 06/23/96. * The WWF has In Your House on 07/21/96. * WCW has Quake At The Lake on 07/07/96. * WCW has a PPV in 08/96. This was just added to the schedule. * The WWF has SummerSlam on 08/18/96. * WCW has Fall Brawl 09/15/96. * The WWF has In Your House on 09/22/96. * WCW has Halloween Havoc 10/27/96 from Caeser's Palace. It will be an outdoor show. * The WWF has In Your House on 10/20/96. * The WWF has Survivor Series on 11/17/96. * WCW has World War III 11/24/96. * The WWF has In Your House on 12/15/96. * WCW has Starrcade on 12/29/96. The wrestling portion includes this post, tape lists, awards history, Japanese wrestling stuff, and other things. I've begun restructuring things. The page will now store old editions of Wrestling TidBits, as space permits. I'll also add some stuff to allow for the viewing/downloading of images in the near future. This document will include in-line images from this point on; I will still post a text version to the newsgroup, but I'm primarily preparing it for the web now. * Videos: I have posted something about the availability of videos. If you missed it, I'll send it to you in e-mail upon request. Herb...
