As I mentioned last week, I had to compose a final exam for the Partial Differential Equations course I'm teaching this term. It was even more difficult than I anticipated and hinted at last week. Not only do questions have to be interesting and relevant to the course material, but they have to be of an appropriate difficulty -- tough stuff to devise. I should be back on track by next week. } - The WWF had In Your House II on Sunday and it turned out to be a very enjoyable show. Of course, Shawn Michaels' title win was the highlight of the event. Michaels pulled out all the stops and Jarrett stayed with him, although he was sometimes seriously sucking wind to keep up the pace at the hot spots. The only problem with the match was that Jerry Lawler had to do commentary alone for a few minutes; that's not his usual role and now we know why. Most of the guys seemed to be trying to work to the best of their ability; the problem from my prespective is that in the case of Sid & Diesel that doesn't mean much. The main event was only watchable because of the work of the guys outside of the ring, IMO. - The biggest news coming out of the WWF's In Your House II was not that Shawn Michaels won the IC Title or even that it was an excellent match. The big news was that Jeff Jarrett & The Roadie both quit the promotion immediately after the show. Prevailing opinion is that Jarrett was worried about going the route of IRS, say, and becoming nothing more than a glorified mid-to-low-carder stuck in inconsequential feuds. - WCW has the Collision in Korea PPV on 08/04/95 featuring matches from the New Japan trip to Korea. The show will be cheaply priced at $14.95 in my neck of the woods. Tentative line-up: - Antonio Inoki vs. Ric Flair - Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Hiro Hase & Kensuke Sasaki - Hawk vs. Tadao Yasuda - Bull Nakano vs. Akira Hokuto - Scott Norton & Masa Chono vs. Akira Nogami & Takayuki Iizuka - Wild Pegasus vs. Too Cold Scorpio - Black Cat vs. El Samurai - Hiro Saito vs. Yuji Nagata - WCW has a Clash of The Champions on WTBS on 08/06/95. Tentative line-up has: - Vader vs. Arn Anderson & Ric Flair - Harlem Heat vs. Blue Bloods for the WCW Tag Titles - Diamond Dallas Page vs. Johnny B. Badd - Sting & Hawk vs. Meng & Kurasawa (Manabu Nakanishi) - Renegade vs. Paul Orndorff for the TV Title - The WWF has SummerSlam on 08/27/95. Now, Vince went into this "Internet fans, I'll give you what you want spiel" on RAW a few weeks back and did deliver a really good show this past Sunday. The tentative line-up for SummerSlam has: - Diesel vs. Mabel for the WWF Title Ugh. Thanks for thinking of us Vince. There's also strange talk that Steve McMichael & William Perry are being talked to about working a match against Owen Hart & Yokozuna. Hopefully that's just a terrible rumour. - WCW will air a "UFC-style" PPV on 09/01/95. - WCW has Fall Brawl on 09/17/95, without Hulk Hogan. - Booking Prediction Tourney: I'll get the tourament results posted in the next day or two. - WWW: My home page is at http://barrow.uwaterloo.ca/~hekunze. Yesterday, I added a nicely re-worked version of my 1994 SMW Fanweek review.
