It had a picture of Tully in his ministerial suit with Bible in hand and a smaller picture of him with the TV belt around his waist. The cassette jacket had the following words of advice: "People go to Hell at the rate of 24000 an hour. Don't let it happen to you!" - Mantaur debuted this weekend on the WWF syndies. Did he seem good to anybody? There's been weird talk in the Observer lately about Jean Paul Levesque considering jumping to the WWF. At last word WCW was nervous enough and interested enough in keeping him that they've offered him & Steve Regal the WCW Tag Titles as heels managed by Sherri Martel, who presumably would turn on Harlem Heat for the title change. Meltzer also reports that there's already talk that Diesel as WWF champ was a wrong move and that presumably the belt will change to Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels. - It's expected that WCW will indeed use guys from New Japan and AAA in their Cruiserweight tournament. Will they let them pull out all the stops? - Despite Jim Ross denying the story (as reported by Joe Pedecino here), rumours persist that Dusty Rhodes is on his way to the WWF front office with son Dustin in tow. - WCW will run their second "WCW All-Nighter" special on 01/20/95, from 12:05am to 6:00am (I'm not sure if that's 12:05am on 01/21). The show will air Clash and PPV matches in their entirety. - The WWF's Royal Rumble PPV takes place on 01/22/95. Announced matches are: - Diesel vs. Bret Hart for the WWF Title - Razor Ramon vs. Jeff Jarrett for the IC Title - Undertaker vs. I.R.S. - Bam Bam Bigelow & Tatanka vs. 1-2-3 Kid & Bob Holly for the vacant WWF Tag Titles in the tag tourney final - Royal Rumble, with announced participants: Lex Luger, King Kong Bundy, Doink, Bob Backlund, Kwang, Duke Droese, Dick Murdoch, Henry Godwinn, Aldo Montoya, British Bulldog, Mo, Mabel, 1-2-3 Kid, Bob Holly, Shawn Michaels, Crush, Mantaur, Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart, Timothy Well, Steven Dunn, Eli Blue, Jacob Blue. There is a lot of talk that Jeff Jarrett will win the IC Title at this show so Razor Ramon can take his vacation. This year, the Rumble match will have wrestlers enter the ring in one minute intervals (traditionally two minutes, last year 1.5 minutes). With 8 more names to be announced for the Rumble, it's already understandable why they dropped the interval time. The winner of the Rumble match gets a WWF title shot at WrestleMania. For whatever it's worth, I've already heard some scuttlebutt that plans are to have the following two matches at WM: Diesel vs. Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart vs. Davey Boy Smith. - WCW has a Clash of Champions on 01/25/95. Tentative line-up has - Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage vs. Kevin Sullivan & Butcher - Sting vs. Avalanche with Guardian Angel as referee - Harlem Heat vs. Stars & Stripes for the WCW Tag Titles *- Johnny B. Badd vs. Arn Anderson for the TV Title - Alex Wright vs. Bobby Eaton Harlem Heat won the WCW Tag Titles at a TV taping slated to air this weekend (the set-up aired last weekend) on WCW Saturday Night, so they will go into the Clash as the champions. Most recent rumour has Ric Flair resurfacing at this show to interview Vader about Hulk Hogan. This brings to mind a few scenarios that could lead to Flair's return. There'll also be an Alex Wright video. - WCW has SuperBrawl on 02/19/95. Tentative line-up has: - Hulk Hogan vs. Vader for the WCW Title - AAA is reportedly planning another PPV for 04/23/95. - Videos: I have posted something about the availability of videos. If you missed it, I'll send it to you in e-mail upon request. Basically, all of the tapes in my video collection are available. My tape list is on the r.s.p-w ftp site (128.227.59.59) in the file herbtape.zip.
