Either that's what will turn out of all this, or they've done a fantastic snowjob. Fantastic snowjobs don't happen these days, so we should expect to be graced with Flair's "final" match. - WCW has Halloween Havoc on Sunday. Line-up has: - Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair for the Unified World Title in a cage with Mr. T as special referee and the loser retiring - Paul Orndorff & Paul Roma vs. Marcus Bagwell & Patriot for the Tag Titles with Patriot's mask on the line - Jim Duggan vs. Steve Austin for the US Title - Johnny B. Badd vs. Honky Tonk Man for the TV Title - Vader vs. Guardian Angel (in a strap match?) - Dustin Rhodes vs. Arn Anderson - Nasty Boys vs. Terry Funk & Bunkhouse Buck - Dave Sullivan vs. Kevin Sullivan Muhammed Ali will present the WCW Title belt to the winner in the main event. We are supposed to expect (former Earthquake) John Tenta to make a surprise appearance at this show, getting involved in the main event in some way to set up a possible feud with Tenta and Hogan. They haven't swayed from plugging Vader as number one contender, so presumably Vader vs. Hogan is still planned for Starrcade, which pushes Tenta into a new year challenger. I just hope they don't team Vader and Tenta somehow. - The re-push of Brian Pillman began this past weekend on WCW Saturday Night, when Tony Schiavone mused that it probably wouldn't be too long before we saw Pillman with a belt around his waist. Brian will no doubt be the flagship wrestler of the lighter weight division that will be created next month. - The other half of last year's Tag Team of the Year The Hollywood Blonds, Steve Austin, is also apparently set for a big push. Sherri Martel will be moved to managing Steve. I don't know how Steve can get the push unless he beats Jim Duggan at Havoc. - Overheard on "Family Feud" while channel surfing: "Name a sport that people bet on." "Wrestling." Yikes. - The WWF's Hart Attack tour comes to Toronto next week. The WWF has spent more on advertising for this locale than I can recall in recent years. Besides the TV ads during the WWF syndies, they are running radio spots on local stations and print ads in every paper imaginable from city-wide papers to smaller municipal papers. - Davey Boy Smith showed up in Calgary court to face assault charges stemming from a bar altercation last year. On the evening of 07/25/93, while visiting Calgary, Smith is alleged to have been involved in a barroom brawl which ended with the other guy suffering some brain damage. Kody Light suffered a fractured skull, lost hearing in one ear, lost the ability to speek clearly, and has memory difficulties. This incident may well have played a role in WCW firing Smith last year, although the official reason was that Smith missed too many scheduled dates. Smith immediately hightailed it to England and worked some dates there. He said back then that he would return to face the charges when his tour was over. - Maybe it's just a bad coincidence, but in the past two weeks of RAW (which only became available on TSN in Canada three weeks ago), we've been gifted with highlights of midgets popping out of the woodwork. This hasn't done all that much to convince me I've missed too much over the past couple of years. - AAA will broadcast a show on live PPV on 11/06/94. Matches are: - Konnan vs. Perro Aguayo, cage, 2-of-3 falls - El Hijo del Santo & Octagon vs. Eddy Guerrero & Love Machine, double mask vs. hair, 2-of-3 falls - Chris Benoit & 2 Cold Scorpio & Tito Santana vs. La Parka & Blue Panther & Jerry Estrada, 2-of-3 trios match - Heavy Metal & Rey Misterio Jr. & Latin Lover vs. Psicosis & Fuerza Guerrera & Madonna's Boyfriend, 2-of-3 falls trios match - Mascarita Sagrada & Octagoncito vs. Espectrito & Jerrito Estrada, 2-of-3 falls minis match It's confirmed that this show was not picked up by my cable company, anyhow. - UWFi has a PPV on 11/11/94. This show was picked up by my cable company. - WCW has Clash of Champions XXIX on 11/16/94. Tentative line-up has: - Hulk Hogan & Sting vs. Vader & Curt Hennig There is talk now that Curt Hennig may in fact not be coming in. This begs the question: Who was that masked man? - WWF has Survivor Series on 11/23/94. The tentative line-up has: - Bret Hart vs. Bob Backlund for the WWF Title - Undertaker vs. Yokozuna in a casket match - Davey Boy Smith & Razor Ramon & Fatu & Barbarian & 1-2-3 Kid vs. Jim Neidhart & Owen Hart & Shawn Michaels & Diesel & Jeff Jarrett - Doink & Dink & Wink & Pink vs. Jerry Lawler & Queasy & Wheezy & The Little Prince - Lex Luger & Adam Bomb & Mabel & Smoking Gunns vs. Tatanka & King Kong Bundy & Bam Bam Bigelow & Heavenly Bodies In a big surprise to me, this show was *not* picked up by my cable company. Has Rogers' Cable pledged the Chewbaccan Vow? - WCW has Starrcade '94 on 12/27/94. The tentative line-up has: - Hulk Hogan vs. Vader for the WCW Title - Videos: I have posted something about the availability of videos. If you missed it, I'll send it to you in e-mail upon request.
