The Jeff Jarrett vs. Doink & Dink feud was built up a bit, as was Jarrett in general. Jarrett has a fancier ring entrance now and was DQ'ed and then counted out against Razor Ramon. Jarrett, masquerading as Doink, destroyed Dink - this would usually mean that he laid him out with many devastating maneuvers, but not in this case; Jarrett used pies, whipped cream, and other foodstuff on Dink. I can imagine the commentary now, all of it laced with cheesy references to "Doink's little Dink." In a later match, Doink chased Jarrett off into the back. Jarrett also dropped a match to Lex Luger. Diesel won the IC Title in a match that should air in the next couple of weeks. If memory serves, the Adam Bomb vs. Razor Ramon match that airs this week leads to the challenge from Diesel. Ramon stripped the turnbuckle but Diesel used it before Ramon could. Shawn Michaels worked as Diesel's manager at the taping but won't work this role on the road (this seems to be becoming the norm as Jim Cornette obviously doesn't go on the road for Yokozuna or the Heavenly Bodies). - Melissa Hiatt (Missy Hyatt) was featured on Tuesday's "Inside Edition" show, talking about her harrassment claims against WCW. She filed a claim with the Georgia Equal Employment Opportunities Commission on 03/29/94 in which she claimed that she had been sexually harrassed by her coworkers and superiors for much of her five year stint with WCW/NWA. She said on IE that the EEOC has 90 days to collect information on the case and at that point she planned to sue the company in federal court and "each supervisor and each individual" separately. The story was done by Steve Dunleavy, who began with the insulting "If I was 100 pounds heavier and I put a tatoo on my nose, I could perhaps join that billion dollar industry called wrestling" and then went on to say "...some of them have the acting talent of Richard Burton with a little bit of Mickey Mouse thrown in...". So, he immediately dismissed the whole thing as pretty much ridiculous. I think this speaks to the different way in which our culture and the Japanese culture few pro-wrestling, but that's another issue. Missy said that the straw that broke her back was when she saw a picture or herself with her breast hanging out of her top blown up and posted in the office. Meltzer mused that this must have been from Starrcade, but Missy seemed to say that it was from another match where she ran in for the DQ for the Nasty Boys at the right time. This happened in January and she claims that she was fired when she complained. Dunleavy also asked her, "Wrestling: fact or fiction?" Missy replied, "Well I don't want to insult your intelligence or anyone else's intelligence out there, but it's complete fabrication." IE also went to Chicago and got a quick interview with Cactus Jack & Maxx Payne, who were on their way into the Horizon for the PPV this Sunday. Cactus Jack said, "She was around for a long time. I thought she was pretty good at her job. I don't... I think she's kinda biting the hand that fed her. Human nature is: PEOPLE SUCK! And things like that are bound to happen, so, Missy, if you can make a few bucks out of Ted's deep pockets then go ahead..." The WCW spokesman on the show, Alan Sharp, basically said that he can't comment on the issue. - WCW re-signed both Brian Pillman & Steve Austin before Spring Stampede. Prior to that it looked like Pillman might finish at the show since he wasn't on the booking sheets for the following month and that Austin would only work one more month before leaving. Many sources had already reported deals with the WWF for both men, but that's nothing but hot air now. - Presumably, the Spring Stampede main event finish will lead to Ric Flair being a face once again. He is supposed to be a strong face by the time Slamboree rolls around. This explains the logic of taping a match with Arn Anderson & Rick Steamboat teaming. Flair has been working pretty much as a babyface at the houses. - WCW has Slamboree II on 05/22/94. Tentative line-up includes: *- Nasty Boys vs. The Sullivans for the Tag Titles - Steve Austin vs. Johnny B. Badd for the US Title - Steve Regal vs. Larry Zbyszko for the TV Title *- Rick Rude vs. Vader - Dustin Rhodes vs. Bunkhouse Buck in a Texas bullrope match *- Tully Blanchard vs. Terry Funk Ric Flair will defend his WCW Title. Legends slated as appearing include Verne Gagne, Dusty Rhodes, Killer Kowalski, The Assassin, Ray Stevens, Red Bastien, Larry Hennig, Ole Anderson, Blackjack Mulligan, Tommy Young, Lou Thesz. - The WWF has the King of the Ring PPV on 06/19/94 from Baltimore. - WCW has The Great American Bash on 07/17/94 from Miami. - Videos: I have posted something about the availability of videos. If you missed it, I'll send it to you in e-mail upon request. Basically, all of the tapes in my video collection are available. I've uploaded an updated version of my detailed tape list to the ftp site. I've managed to enter some details for all of my weekly TV tapes, so there's a total of very close to 500 tapes listed. If you are interested in getting a copy of VideoMarinepiad I, drop me some e-mail. In response to e-mail questions, yes, VideoMarinepiad will most likely become a regular event. The plans are in the works for VM II in June. All promotions will be considered for participation in VM II and hopefully we'll showcase a diverse selection of matches so that fans of any one promotion won't feel insulted. Stay tuned. Several people asked me who won the New York Royal Rumble I mentioned last week. The answer is Owen Hart. I mentioned in another post that I had a chance to watch the Terry Funk vs. Sabu match from the WWN TV taping on 02/28/94. It was an excellent match. In the next week, I'll be getting another Funk vs. Sabu match, among other things. Herb...
