Announced line-up is: - Ric Flair vs. Big Van Vader in a Thunderdome cage match with special referee The Boss - Brian Pillman & Sting & Dustin Rhodes vs. Steve Austin & Paul Orndorff Rick Rude in the Thunderdome cage - Steve Regal vs. Arn Anderson for the TV Title - Nasty Boys vs. Maxx Payne & Cactus Jack for the WCW Tag Titles - Harlem Heat vs. Thunder & Lightning - Diamond Dallas Page vs. Terry Taylor - Jungle Jim Steele vs. Equalizer In matches taped for TV after SuperBrawl, the Nasty Boys still had the tag titles. Since the Patriot vs. Steve Regal series of matches should continue for a few weeks, we can guess that result. Steele vs. Equalizer should be just super... - Kevin Sullivan debuts on WCW TV a couple of weeks after SuperBrawl. The week following SB, the Nasty Boys ignore Equalizer after the threesome wins a match. This leads to Equalizer's face turn and the appearance of his "big brother," Sullivan, to go after the Nasties. Who thinks this stuff up? Sherri Martel will manage the team. - WCW has worked out a deal to bring in Curt Hennig. They've already begun taping vignettes with Curt doing all of those perfect things, like hunting for deer and hitting one with one shot. Hennig had been contacted by the WWF about appearing at WrestleMania X, but apparently has had a sweeter offer. - The Toronto Sun reports that Shawn Michaels will be finished with the WWF after his WrestleMania match and already has plans to jump to WCW. This reporter is quite unreliable, to say the least, so take this with a huge grain of salt. I doubt we'll really be confident of saying anything on this until the finish of the Ramon vs. Michaels match occurs at WM. - Speaking of the Sun, I've read it there and heard it elsewhere that WCW plans to form another Four Horsemen in the near future. They needed to wait for Arn Anderson's return and now have two active Horsemen, Arn & Ric Flair. I suppose that Ole could be called to come in front of the camera again, but wouldn't it be nice if they re-did the "we searched far and wide for someone who could be a horseman" skit again and this time surprised people by bringing in Curt Hennig? - ABC's sit-com "Family Matters" features the Bushwhackers tomorrow night. They face off against Carl Winslow & Steve Urkel. - The WWF has WrestleMania X on 03/20/94 from MSG in New York. Announced matches include: - Lex Luger vs. Yokozuna for the WWF Title - Bret Hart vs. winner of above match for the WWF Title - Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart - Crush vs. Randy Savage with falls counting anywhere and both wrestlers having to be back in the ring 60 seconds after a pinfall - Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels for both IC Title belts in a ladder match - Quebecers vs. Men on a Mission for the WWF Tag Titles - Alundra Blayze vs. Debbie Combs for the WWF Women's title Talk is that Evander Holyfield will appear as a guest referee in one of the title matches. For the first time in recent memory, the WWF will feature matches on PPV that have already been run at the house shows. For the record, the Crush vs. Savage falls count anywhere matches at the house shows were said to have been terrible, partly because of lack of action and partly because the stipulations are sloppy. The Ramon vs. Michaels ladder matches have been in the **** range regularly, with Michaels putting on a bump clinic. Some people expect the Quebecers vs. MOM match to get changed to the Quebecers vs. Steiners coming out of some yet unseen angle. - The WWF Royal Rumble PPV got a 0.9 buy rate according to the Observer. That means the WWF has put on on it's two least popular PPVs back-to-back. - The WWF has the King of the Ring PPV on 06/19/94 from Baltimore. - Videos: I have posted something about the availability of videos. If you missed it, I'll send it to you in e-mail upon request. I had some time last night to watch a bit of the commercial tapes from the New Japan Top of The Super Junior Tourney from mid-1993. The tourney final of Benoit vs. Samurai was really the best match and I'd already seen it on a handheld. There were other highlights, though: 2 Cold Scorpio's graceful work, Lightning Kid doing more work in the clips than he's done so far in the WWF, Eddie Guerrero's topes, Chris Benoit vs. Dean Malenko in an excellent match with lots of countermoves back and forth. The biggest news out of the tournament, of course, was Jushin Liger injuring his ankle. Meltzer had reported that this occurred in a match against 2 Cold Scorpio, however Liger was already limping on his way to the ring for the match. After only 3:30, the referee called the match. Liger was helped back to the locker room and his boot was cut off. His ankle was clearly swollen and he talked about it while they sprayed it down. The biggest spot of the tournament was Masao Orihara attempting his moonsault from the top turnbuckle onto Chris Benoit, who was standing on the ringside floor. Orihara missed and basically moonsaulted the ringside floor from that height. It's hard to believe he got up. Herb...
