My girlfriend is coming to visit tomorrow and we've planned to go to Banff & Jasper for a few days next week. Herb... } - There is some talk of Owen Hart getting a push in the WWF. Maybe with Bret taking his three month vacation after Survivor Series, Owen will get bumped up to take his place in the feud with Jerry Lawler. - The WCW Tag Title change from the Nasty Boys to 2 Cold Scorpio & Marcus Bagwell will air the night before the Halloween Havoc PPV. - Big Van Vader is finally putting the screws to WCW. Last week there was mention that Vader had finally signed a contract with WCW, but that seems to be questionable now. The current rumour is that Vader wants a 6 year deal for nearly $10-million, saying that's what he could make working Japan the majority of his time. Could it be coincidence that Flair vs. Vader for the WCW Title is at the Clash? - Harvey Whippleman's secret weapon to get back at the apparently returned Giant Gonzales will be Adam Bomb. This could actually rival Undertaker vs. Gonzales for match quality. - Mixed talk about Hulk Hogan this week, who is spewing lots of wrestling-related stuff as he promotes his movie. He's said he wants to be part of bringing New Japan pro-wrestling on a US tour, and that he wants to wrestle Yokozuna at WrestleMania. The Toronto Star reports that Vince is still being polite with Hogan - eg. running his movie promo on the syndies - but has no plans to give him the title back. - Maxx Payne turned face at a recent WCW taping and will apparently team with Johnny B. Badd. Erik Watts' seemingly aborted heel turn was resumed as part of this storyline when Watts kept screwing up as Badd's tag partner. Ron Simmons hinted a heel turn. A Simmons & Ice Train alliance was born on last week's World Wide wrestling when Ice Train made the save when Ron was getting pummelled by the Hollywood Blonds. In tag matches, Train keeps goofing up because of inexperience and Simmons lectures him, hinting the heel turn. - Brian Pillman returned to the ring at the recent WCW TV tapings after the ankle injury that had him out for many weeks. Rumours of Brian Pillman's face turn have reached here. - Hulk Hogan's TV show "Thunder In Paradise" will debut in syndication in March, 1994. The show will feature Hogan, WCW's Sting, and Bo Derek in recurring roles. The pilot is available in video stores now. - WCW has Halloween Havoc on PPV on 10/24/93 from New Orleans. Tentative line-up includes: - Big Van Vader vs. Cactus Jack in a "Spin the Wheel, Make The Deal" match - Nasty Boys vs. 2 Cold Scorpio & Marcus Bagwell for the Tag Titles - Rick Rude vs. Ric Flair for the World Championship - Sting vs. Sid Vicious - Dustin Rhodes vs. Steve Austin for the US Title *- Steve Regal vs. Davey Boy Smith for the TV Title - WCW has Clash of Champions XXVI on 11/10/93 from Petersburg. The Road Warriors are scheduled to appear. Tentative line-up includes: *- Van Vader vs. Ric Flair for the WCW Title *- Rick Rude vs. Hawk (with Animal at ringside) *- Dustin Rhodes (with Dusty) vs. Paul Orndorff (with Assassin) *- Steve Austin vs. Brian Pillman On the 10/30/93 WCW SN show, Ric Flair & Sid Vicious will square off in a television match to determine who gets the title shot at Van Vader, with Flair coming out on top when Colonel Parker gets Sid DQ'ed. This will lead to Sid turning face. - WCW has the Lethal Lottery on PPV on 11/20/93. - WCW has Starrcade '93 on PPV in late December. The line-up is rumoured to include: *- Sid Vicious vs. Van Vader Sid should be a face by this point and Meltzer thinks the plan is to give him a run as the face champion on top in WCW. - The WWF has Survivor Series on PPV on 11/24/93 in Boston. Tentative line-up includes: - Team USA: Lex Luger & Steiners & Tatanta vs. Team Foreign Scum: Ludvig Borga & Yokozuna & Quebeckers - Rick Martel & Diesel & Adam Bomb & I.R.S. vs. Razor Ramon & Marty Janetty & Curt Hennig & 1-2-3 Kid *- R'n'R Express: Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson vs. Heavenly Bodies: Tom Prichard & Jimmy del Ray for the SMW Titles *- Team Savage: Randy Savage & friends vs. Team Crush: Crush & friends *- Team Hart: Bret Hart & friends (brothers?) vs. Team Lawler: Jerry Lawler & friends To build heat for the top match on this PPV, Ludvig Borga got a screw job win over Tatanka to air on TV and the various team members ran down to ringside and got into it. It's funny how every year in November, there's an eight-man brawl of sort. Bruce Hart is expected to appear at the show. The arena is already sold out, as this will be the last wrestling card before the building is torn down. - New Japan has the annual beginning of the year show in Tokyo Dome on 01/04/94. The line-up might include: *- Hulk Hogan vs. Antonio Inoki - The WWF has Royal Rumble on 01/22/94 in Providence. - The WWF has WrestleMania X on 04/03/94 from MSG in New York. Herb...
