I freaked out too many people the last time I did that and somebody else beat me to the punch this year anyhow. If you missed that joker's post, there's always Marv. ;-) - Results from a WWF card in Toronto this past Sunday: - Undertaker def. Yokozuna by DQ - IRS def. Kamala by pinfall - Tatanka def. Doink by DQ - Bob Backlund def. Damien Demento by pinfall - Steiners def. Beverly Brothers by pinfall - Virgil def. Reno Riggins by pinfall - Brooklyn Brawler def. Jim Powers by pinfall Next card in Toronto is 07/11/93 (!), an unbelievably long time away. - WWF has WrestleMania on 04/04/93 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The line-up looks like this: - Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna for the WWF Title - Hulk Hogan & Brutus Beefcake vs. Money, Inc. for the WWF Tag Titles - Steiners vs. Headshrinkers - Tatanka vs. Shawn Michaels for the IC Title - Giant Gonzales vs. Undertaker - Curt Hennig vs. Lex Luger - Crush vs. Doink the Clown - Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Kamala - Bob Backlund vs. Razor Ramon - Jerry Lawler vs. Genichiro Tenryu There is lots of talk that the final match on this list will not take place. I'm still unsure if the PPV spot reserved for the WWF on 04/12/93 will be a replay of this show as somebody else reported. My guide says that the PPV and replay air back to back on 04/04 and just has a blank reserved spot for for the WWF on 04/12. Predictions? With Ted DiBiase still hurting, Hogan & Beefer should take the straps. There's no way that the match won't have them win decisively, I think. I would have Yokozuna win the title, using some salt to get the win and have him destroy Hart a bit after the match with Hogan making the save. This would set up Hogan vs. Yokozuna on 04/12, where Hogan could get the title (before his movie opens). The tag titles would be up for a tourney and Yokozuna would be freed up to feud with Jim Duggan. The obvious tag title tourney winners would be the Steiners. That said, they should lose to the Headshrinkers at WrestleMania (controversially, say) or at least get beat up after the match so that a Steiners vs. Headshrinkers tourney match has added heat. Speculation is fun, isn't it? - Talk is the "Flair for The Gold" stuff that Ric Flair keeps talking about is the name of an interview segment that he will host in WCW. He'll do that until he starts wrestling again in June. One of the local papers had the following quote from Flair: "All the elements are in place for the WCW to really go big. Ted Turner is really committed. I'm not saying this to spite the WWF, but in 12 months I believe the WCW will be bigger." - Looks like the new guys in charge of WCW are embarking a big North American tour. They'll be going to a lot of "foreign" ground, hitting New York on April 14th and Toronto on the 18th. It's weird seeing localized interviews on WCW syndies. This past week they announced the following things for Toronto: - Steve Regal vs. Maxx Payne *- Cactus Jack & Dustin Rhodes vs. Paul Orndorff & Rick Rude *- Sting vs. Van Vader for the WCW Title - Ric Flair will appear Tentative other matches: - Barry Windham vs. Ron Simmons for the NWA Title - Brian Pillman & Steve Austin vs. Ricky Steamboat & Shane Douglas for the WCW Tag Titles - Marcus Bagwell & 2 Cold Scorpio vs. Tex Slazenger & Shanghi Pierce - Van Hammer vs. Vinnie Vegas - Chris Benoit vs. Johnny B. Badd Flair was apparently in Toronto promoting the show last week. - E-mail TidBits: If your site has a slow feed or you don't read news frequently enough and you want to get this posting as e-mail every week, send me e-mail saying so. - Videos: The video discussion continues, I think.
