- It looks like we need a scorecard so we know exactly which the lawsuits are flying in Titanland. Here goes: This person Is suing Because (allegedly) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vince McMahon Geraldo Rivera He tried to extort money from Vince Linda McMahon in exchange for not airing the segments on WWF sexual harrassment on "Now It Can Be Told" and "Geraldo" Rita Chatterton She lied on the above shows about Vince McMahon forcing sex on her David Shults He helped fabricate the story Brooke Skulski She produced the "Now It Can Be Told" story Investigative They aired the two shows News Group, Inc. & Tribune Entertainment David Shults Vince McMahon Countersuit over above charges Vince McMahon New York Post Columnist Phil Mushnick compared him to Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lector Vince McMahon Kevin Wacholz Kevin, aka Nailz, said Vince grabbed his crotch Jim Hellwig Vince McMahon Wrongful dismissal of Hellwig, aka the Ultimate Warrior Paul Heyman WCW Wrongful dismissal of Heyman, aka Paul E. Badd Van Hammer --/ (def. Chris Benoit) - Reports have Van Vader suffering a little damage to his ear drum due to his mask getting ripped off at the SuperBrawl PPV on Sunday. Talk is that he'll be out for two weeks. This is very interesting since Vader's contract expires on March 4, so if he runs into contract negotiations we may not see him again. Vader recently signed a lucrative deal with UWFi in Japan, breaking his contract with New Japan in the process. - Apparently, Randy Savage had a fall-out with Vince McMahon, but things were smoothed over and Savage is on his way to the USWA to take the title from Jerry Lawler. - WCW will air an edited mini-PPV of the 01/04/93 Tokyo Dome show. The taped show airs in my area on 03/13/93 and 03/14/93 for $9.95, with no length or match list given. Matches that are said to be on the show: * Great Muta vs. Masa Chono for the NWA Title * Sting vs. Hiro Hase * Ron Simmons vs. Tony Halme * Genichiro Tenryu vs. Riki Choshu * Dustin Rhodes & Scott Norton vs. Shinya Hashimoto & Masa Saito * Jushin Riger vs. Ultimo Dragon * Steiners vs. Hell Raisers: Hawk & Kensuke Sasaki The final tag match was announced in the promo for the show as were the matches with Ron Simmons, Sting and Dustin Rhodes. The match times for all of the listed matches (bell to bell) total just over 1:45. - WWF has WrestleMania on 04/04/93 at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The tentative line-up looks like this: * Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna for the WWF Title * Giant Gonzales vs. Undertaker * Curt Hennig vs. Lex Luger * Crush vs. Doink the Clown * Tatanka vs. Shawn Michaels for the IC Title * Steiners vs. Headshrinkers * Hulk Hogan & Brutus Beefcake vs. Money, Inc. The "*" matches have been announced on TV or at a press conference. My gut feeling is that Yokozuna will demolish Bret Hart post-match and Hulk Hogan will make the save, setting up the Real American vs. Japan. - Videos: I was watching a new tape of 06/85 Japanese wrestling I received on Monday. One of the matches (listed as the #16 match of the 80s in the 1989 Observer Yearbook by Jeff Bowdren, for what that's worth) was Kuniaki Kobayashi vs. Tiger Mask (Mitsuhara Misawa) from 06/21/85. A regular move for all the Tiger Masks is to run at their opponent, who is sprawled against the turnbuckle, step on the second rope, step on their opponent's chest and do a backward flip, landing and taunting their opponent. Misawa did this move and landed bad. He had been limping a bit prior to this already, but when he landed after this move he blew his knee out. He needed surgery after the match. Somehow he managed to work the rest of the match. With everybody knowing he was hurt (he was constantly limping), he still managed to do a Riger-like somersault dive over the top rope to the floor that was just beautiful. He ended up losing, but his guts were unbelievable.
