Flair submitted to Hart's Sharpshooter at the 23:04 mark. Talk has it that Bret was ready to bolt from the WWF after losing the IC Title to Davey Boy Smith at SummerSlam, but Vince offered him a short-term spot as world champ to keep him around. Hart has apparently signed for another 2 years with the WWF. - WCW has it's annual Halloween Havoc PPV on October 25, 1992. Tentative line-up includes: - Jake Roberts vs. Sting in a "Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal" match, where Sting will apparently spin a gimmicked wheel to determine which type of match takes place. Matches on the wheel in the "Spin The Wheel Saloon" sketch were (in alphabetical order): - Barbed Wire - Cage - Coal Miner's Glove - Dog Collar Match - First Blood - I Quit - Lumberjack Match - Prince of Darkness - Russian Chain Match - Spinner Choice - Texas Bull Rope - Texas Death Match *- Rick Rude vs. Masa Chono for the NWA Heavyweight Title with two referees (one chosen by each wrestler) - Ron Simmons vs. Barbarian for the WCW Heavyweight Title *- Dustin Rhodes & Barry Windham vs. Steve Williams & Terr Gordy for the Unified WCW & NWA Tag Titles *- Ricky Steamboat vs. Brian Pillman The show will be announced by Jim Ross & Jesse Ventura, with Tony Schiavone & Bruno Sammartino hosting (i.e. Bruno gets Eric Bischoff's regular spot). In an angle that airs this weekend on WCW Saturday Night, Paul E. Dangerously announces that he's still Rude's manager and has signed Rude to defend his US Title against Nikita Koloff. Somehow, when the chips fall, it apparently ends up as a Nikita Koloff vs. Steve Austin match. - Notice that Scott Steiner is not mentioned in the above line-up. In their 'final' meeting on the Steiners' contracts, Bill Watts and the Steiners were unable to come to an agreement. The Steiners will accept the $1000 a shot pay-off, but they want a guaranteed number of dates (rumoured to be 5 a week) that Watts won't match. - This year's WCW Starrcade PPV will be another Lethal Lottery: Battle Bowl thingie. That was so succesful last, wasn't it? - The WWF has it's annual Survivor Series PPV from Richfield, OH, on US Thanksgiving weekend. Matches will include: - Randy Savage & Ultimate Warrior vs. Ric Flair & Razor Ramon with trouble-shooting referee Sgt. Slaughter - Big Boss Man vs. Nailz in a nightstick match - Kamala vs. The Undertaker in a casket match - Videos: I had a blast this weekend watching wrestling videos at my parents' house. I'll post a review of the Japanese things in the next couple of days, but one of the highlights for my parents was a tape of North American things from 1986-1987.
