It's unclear how the rumour started, but it supposedly was reported first on some TV show in the US. Apparently, there is a chance that Hogan will be lured back into the WWF (to start some time in October), but talk persists about him being thisclose to signing with New Japan (for the two matches @ $150000 each deal). - Crush & Animal will work as the new Legion of Doom while the crew is in Europe. If they work okay, they'll tag up in North America too. - WCW has it's annual Halloween Havoc PPV on October 25, 1992. Tentative line-up includes: - Jake Roberts vs. Sting in a "Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal" match, where Sting will apparently spin a gimmicked wheel to determine which type of match takes place. Matches on the wheel in the "Spin The Wheel Saloon" sketch were (in alphabetical order): - Barbed Wire - Cage - Coal Miner's Glove - Dog Collar Match - First Blood - I Quit - Lumberjack Match - Prince of Darkness - Russian Chain Match - Spinner Choice - Texas Bull Rope - Texas Death Match - Rick Rude vs. Masa Chono for the NWA Heavyweight Title - Ron Simmons vs. Barbarian for the WCW Heavyweight Title I guess the Terry Gordy & Steve Williams title defence originally scheduled to take place here will be replaced by Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes dropping the titles to the team Watts really wants as champions. - Talk of Sid Vicious reappearing in WCW at Halloween Havoc may not be too far-fetched. Sid was apparently back-stage at the last Omni house show in Atlanta. - The WWF has it's annual Survivor Series PPV from Richfield, PA, on US Thanksgiving weekend. Matches will include: - Randy Savage & Ultimate Warrior vs. Ric Flair & Razor Ramon - Big Boss Man vs. Nailz - WrestleMania is scheduled to take place in Madison Square Gardens next year. The Royal Rumble will take place in Sacramento. - As reported on the net already by our Centre Stage regulars, Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes are the new NWA & WCW Tag champs, defeating Terry Gordy & Steve Williams for the titles. There was no word in the newspaper report on this whether Gordy & Williams were on their way out of WCW or not. The match will be broadcast next weekend. - Also next weekend, we will see the debut of the Shane Douglas & Erik Watts tag team. - Terry Taylor is back in the WWF. When he was canned by WCW, he went to the WWF asking for a job. I don't know what the answer was, but he then tried to arrange to be part of New Japan's October tour. The NJ deal fell through because Terry didn't like their money offer. - Videos: I received 24 mostly old North American videos in the mail on Monday. Of the 24 tapes, - 2 were 1990-1991 New Japan & All Japan stuff - 2 were the GWF title tourneys (that I've never seen. No ESPN). - 3 were Herb Abrams' UWF, covering a several month period (also never seen this stuff before) - 2 were 1985 AWA - 1 was 1986 NWA - 1 was early 1989 NWA - 1 was mostly old WWF -- lots of old title changes and some much older matches - the remainder is assorted 1987-1988 North American stuff (NWA, AWA, WWF, WCCW, etc.) - Year-End achievement awards: I'll be posting something about the third annual year-end awards shortly. Halfway through this year, I had some PC problems and I'm not sure if I still have copies of the past two years' awards. If anybody happens to have them archived, could you send me a copy? Herb...
