The Hulkster was negotiating with New Japan about working several shots with the group next year. Hogan apparently wanted to work 4 shots at $150000 each, and New Japan was offering $100000 each for 6 shots. New Japan must be fairly confident about the deal, since they are already talking about a Hogan vs. Scott Norton or Hogan vs. Antonio Inoki match at the 01/04/93 Tokyo Dome show. Talk now has New Japan and Hogan talking about $200000 each for two shots in 1993. No word on the extent of Hogan's injuries or if they'll effect New Japan's plans of having Hogan at the Egg Dome. - The Legion of Doom is no more. They were the longest-together active tag team in the history of the sport and held the WWF, NWA, AWA, and All Japan PWF International tag titles. It all started a long while ago when Vince McMahon instituted his steroid testing policy. Hawk & Animal were two of the louder voices against the tests. Hawk failed a test (apparently not for steroids) in February and, at that point, wanted to quit the company. Animal wanted to stay and keep the team together. Eventually Animal & Vince convinced Hawk to stay with the team, with Vince offering to keep the test result hush-hush and also offering to bring in long-time Road Warriors manager Paul Ellering. However, news of Hawk's failed test, which only Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson were supposed to know about, appeared in "Penthouse" recently. After Summer Slam, Hawk quit the promotion. He and Animal were both "officially" suspended for six weeks for missing the flight home from England. Hawk's contract with the WWF will probably lock him up for a while, much as Rick Rude was locked up for a year until his contract ran out. Animal is supposedly going to get repackaged as a singles wrestler, although there is talk of finding him a new tag team partner. I'm not sure what this means for Paul Ellering. And nobody has reported on who Rocko sides with in this split. - The Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage exchanged gifts and will form the "Ultimate Maniacs," presumably for tag matches against Ric Flair & Razor Ramon. - WCW has it's annual Halloween Havoc PPV on October 25, 1992. Tentative line-up includes: - Jake Roberts vs. Sting in a "Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal" match, where Sting will apparently spin a gimmicked wheel to determine which type of match takes place. Matches on the wheel in the "Spin The Wheel Saloon" sketch were (in alphabetical order): - Barbed Wire - Cage - Coal Miner's Glove - Dog Collar Match - First Blood - I Quit - Lumberjack Match - Prince of Darkness - Russian Chain Match - Spinner Choice - Texas Bull Rope - Texas Death Match - Rick Rude vs. Masa Chono for the NWA Heavyweight Title - Ron Simmons vs. Barbarian for the WCW Heavyweight Title - Terry Gordy & Steve Williams will defend (one or both belts?) against the top contenders - On top of all the comings and goings I mentioned last week, there's still more. Junkfood Dog and Curtis Hughes are gone from WCW. Vinnie Vegas and Tracy Smothers are gone too. There is talk that Sid Vicious may appear at Halloween Havoc. Herb...
