Savage was asked about anabolic steroids and responded, "I experimented with steroids in the past when it was legal. Using steroids was and is like putting poison in your body. It puts your body totally out of balance. Let me tell you one thing: it's like having one heck of a case of PMS." He went on to rant about telling kids not to take drugs and ended with the opposite of his usual exclamation to show what kids should say to drugs: "Oh Nooooo!" The Ultimate Warrior played the interview legit and said his real name was Jim Hellwig and that he had studied chiropractics. - Vince buried Jake Roberts in the commentary on the syndies on the weekend. Jake quit the WWF before WresleMania and from Jim Ross' rantings, I guess we're supposed to believe that WCW is talking with him. - Undetailed results from the Omni's WCW card on Saturday had: - Sting over Van Vader (believe it or not, these guys are supposed to be having some pretty good matches) - Brian Pillman drew with Johnny B. Badd - Steve Austin retained his TV title against Barry Windham - Ricky Steamboat beat Rick Rude in a non-title match - Terry Taylor & Greg Valentine beat Marcus Bagwell & Tom Zenk - Cable went out here on Saturday due a nasty storm, so I didn't get to see much of WCW Saturday Night. It came back on as the main event was starting. I think that Kip should stay behind the scenes a little more. This week's co-host is Dusty Rhodes and the main event is Nikita Koloff vs. Larry Zbyszko. The following week's co-host is Bill Fralic and the main event will probably be a re-match between the Freebirds and Terry Taylor & Greg Valentine. These aren't the kind of main events I want to see. - The Rude-Steamboat angle in WCW is pretty hot. This is going to build to an awesome PPV match in the future. The Sting-Vader angle is also interesting, although the interviews are kinda lame. At last week's TV taping, Vader put the scorpion death lock on a jobber and wouldn't break the hold, even when the ring filled with other jobbers beating on him. Finally, Sting did the run-in save and Vader beat him up for his trouble, putting the scorpion on him too, until the babyfaces made the save. - The WCW WrestleWar '92 PPV takes place on May 17th. Tentative matches are: - Sting & Ricky Steamboat & Nikita Koloff & Dustin Rhodes & Barry Windham vs. The Dangerous Alliance in a Wargames match - Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Tatsumi Fujinami & Takayuki Iizuka to determine #1 contenders to the IWGP Tag Titles (held by Bam Bam Bigelow & Big Van Vader, I believe) - Brian Pillman vs. Tom Zenk for the WCW Lightheavyweight Title - Terry Taylor & Greg Valentine vs. Freebirds for the US Titles - It looks like Scotty "The Body" Flamingo will be getting a bit of a Lightheavyweight push in WCW. Talk of Johnny Valiant being brought in as Scotty's manager. - Videotape: We'll be voting on the matches for the video next week, so more information will probably be forthcoming in my next posting. Right now, we're nominating matches for the ballot. Herb...
