Akebono is a mammoth 436 pounder, while Maimoumi is a svelte 209 pounds. - To recap recent deaths of wrestling greats, Dick The Bruiser died two Sundays ago, Gene Anderson died a coupld of weeks ago, Wally Dusek died three weeks ago, and El Gran Davis died last Sunday, having just refereed a match in Mexico. He was Mexico's most famous referee. - The National Wrestling Alliance (headed by Jim Herd) and the WWF reached an agreement last Thursday that the WWF would not allow Ric Flair to appear on it's broadcasts with the NWA title belt in his possession. The motion was granted in a North Carolina court, forcing the WWF to notify all stations that carry it's shows to somehow edit their broadcasts to remove any appearances of the NWA title belt. This would explain the choppiness with which this was done. As many people reported on the net, some segments with Flair showed the belt, and others did not. Just an oversight by the local TV editor. Future broadcasts should have the editing done by the WWF before they send out the shows. I believe that WCW has paid Flair $50000 for the title belt, and actually own the physical belt again. - Marcus Alexander Bagwell made an appearance on the Clash of Champions on Tuesday, just mentioning that he's a young up-and-comer ready to start with WCW. He worked as the Handsome Stranger previously, and has worked a few try-out matches with WCW, getting over resonably well. The only other time on Tuesday "wasted" on introducing new talent was the segment of clips of Jushin "Thunder" Riger. I hope that nobody thought that this time was a waste. Riger will be coming in for a short tour in late December, mostly to work with Brian Pillman (and presumably Arachniman) for the WCW Lightheavyweight title. He'll probably make an appearance at the WCW PPV on December 29th to mark his arrival in the group, and start working with them at the next taping. - Injury report: Barry Windham will be out until February 1992, Sid Justice won't be back until WrestleMania, Rons Simmons should be back in December. - Isn't the idea for the Starrcade PPV on December 29th just grand? I mean, here they are asking people to pay $20 to see a show on which nobody knows a single match-up. Jeez, at least they could build one hot angle to a climax for that show, like Lex Luger vs. somebody, and have one concrete match to push. - As reported on the net already, Ted DiBiase regained the Million Dollar belt from Virgil at the WWF TV taping in Utica. The Repo Man interfered in the match while Sherri Martel distracted the referee. The marriages coming out of this will be Repo Man & Virgil, and Ted DiBiase & El Matador (presumably set up later). - The Survivor Series has fallen apart a bit, hasn't it? And picturing Vince McMahon as a major control freak, he's probably very unnerved. Ricky Steamboat's place in the SS will be taken by El Matador, Jim Neidhart's place will be taken by Sgt. Slaughter, Sid Justice's place will be probably be taken by Randy Savage, either under a hood or not, and who knows who will take Big Bully Busich's place. I will *not* be running a booking predicition for the Survivor Series, because I don't know how to handle the variety involved in the tag matches, and I don't want to run a prediction for just the Hogan vs. Undertaker match. - Lots of talk about the WWF changing the PPV in early December. Although I had originally listed the match line-up as follows: - Hulk Hogan vs. The Undertaker for the WWF Title - Bret Hart vs. Skinner for the IC Title - Ric Flair vs. Roddy Piper - Ted DiBiase & IRS vs. Virgil & Big Bossman; it is now rumoured that Vince will be having a Ric Flair vs. Hulk Hogan match on this PPV. Maybe he's finally decided what his plans are, having lost Sid, and having presumably been negotiating with Randy Savage. It's still a mystery to me. Herb...
