He has yet to lose a match in the organization. This may change when his program with Stan Hansen begins. In the mean time, they are also working an angle between Terrence Taylor and Dustin Rhodes, with Alexandra York scouting Rhodes for the York Foundation. In the latest skit, when offered a contract by Alexandra, Dustin grabs her and gives her a long kiss. - As mentioned by others, Jim Cornette was being talked to about returning to WCW as a manager or announcer. Jim says there's no hard feelings, but he can't make it now - he's booking the summer programs for the LPWA. - After working a taping and jobbing to the fierce combination of Buck Zumhof & Koko B. Ware, the Destruction Crew (Wayne Bloom & Mike Enos) have signed on with the WWF as the Destructions. - The WWF's tour of England met with mostly sold-out houses for a couple of weeks. It looks like Vince is planning for a longer tour there in the future. - Next SWS tour for the WWF guys will include the "retired" Randy Savage, Jim Neidhart, The Rockers, Tugboat, and Power & Glory. - Sid Vicious will be keeping his name when he goes to the WWF. Since he worked with that name prior to joining WCW, he can take it with him. He should debut in the WWF long before his contract with WCW expires in September. Afterall, Vince has to begin the push to WrestleMania that far in advance. Sid Vicious leaving WCW has screwed up the semi-long-range plans of the company. This shouldn't be much of a problem, since they have worked for periods of a year or more without seemingly any plans. Anyhow, the original plan was to turn Ric Flair face and have him drop the title to Barry Windham, while El Gigante feuded with Sid Vicious underneath. Vicious, figuring that he was the top heel in the company - and he was, by crowd reaction, but he can't have a good match and appeal doesn't mean drawing power anyhow (look at Sting or UW) -, thought he should be the heel to take the title in this scenario. Contract negotiations were a little stiff and WCW ended up offering to change the scenario around so that Sid would win the strap. Sid still decided to leave the company, even though he could have been their champion and earn $400000 a year, which tells you there were all kinds of other problems. The current plan is to keep Flair a heel and have him feud with Lex Luger for the WCW title. This will probably headline the next PPV. Underneath, El Gigante will feud with One Man Gang, and Nikita Koloff (who was set to have a program with Lex) will feud with Sting (perhaps even for the US Title, if they get Lex to drop it, presumably by offering him the World belt). - Although he's being advertised as appearing on Herb Abrams June PPV, former WWF champion Bob Backlund is actually only being negotiated with. - Rumour has Tony Atlas joining WCW. After leaving the WWF, Tony wandered over to ICW and defeated Vic Steamboat for the title in South China, Me.. Tony quit ICW the next morning and ICW just pretended that the match never took place, giving the belt back to Vic. - Scott Hall worked at a recent WCW taping as a heel managed by Diamond Dallas Page. Maybe Scott will be the third Freebird? - Last night's "Quantum Leap" featured Terry Funk playing a role as a wrestling champion. I haven't seen it yet, but I did video-tape it. - Dino Bravo is gone from the WWF. - As I mentioned last week, Steve Austin has signed with WCW. He'll be coming with (Rockin') Robin Smith as his manager/valet. - Tim Horner and Tom Zenk are both out with injuries. - Some surprises in the WWF this past week at the house shows. Rick Steamboat got a pinfall win over Curt Hennig in a non-title bout a couple of weeks back. (Curt has been dropping non-title matches like crazy lately). More surprisingly, Steamboat got a pinfall win over the Undertaker on the weekend in Portland. - WCW's SuperBrawl PPV takes place on May 19th. Matches are: - Ric Flair vs. Tatsumi Fujinami for the WCW Title - Steiners vs. Sting & Lex Luger for the WCW Tag Titles - Ron Simmons vs. Butch Reed in a Thunderdoom cage match - Brian Pillman vs. Barry Windham in a no-DQ taped fist match - Young Pistols vs. Freebirds for the US Tag Titles - Arn Anderson vs Bobby Eaton for the TV Title - Ricky Morton vs. Dan Spivey - El Gigante vs. Sid Vicious in a stretcher match - Big Josh vs. Larry Zbyszko - Dustin Rhodes vs. Terrence Taylor in a computer match - Tommy Rich vs. Nikita Koloff - Tim Horner vs. Oz There is talk of the WCW Title match having a special referee - I have heard that they may try to get boxing champ Evander Holyfield in an attempt to show up the WWF who used Buster Douglas when he was champ. The Brian Pillman vs. Barry Windham match should be fantastic. The SuperBrawl Control Center bit that highlighted this feud was noteworthy for a couple of reasons. They showed a clip from the Pillman-Windham match that was on the syndies not too long ago. This is the match where Windham injures his eardrum early on, and works the entire thing as booked anyhow. The Pillman-Anderson match clip was also interesting because when Barry Windham runs-in with tapes fists, you can see him actually blade Brian's forehead with the razor he has in the tape on the second or third finger on his right hand. Oz will debut with a menagerie of characters from the movie. If you're interested in seeing how your booking instincts match up with the old Duster's plans, enter the Booking Prediction Tournament for this card. - One for the Wrestling Relations list, Terry. Tugboat is Dusty Rhodes brother-in-law. - Strangest rumour of the week says that Roddy Piper will form a tag team with Rick Martel in the imminent future. Herb...
