This may bode well for Vince, since, as I've mentioned before, there are no "big" men left in the WWF that have not been killed except Tugboat and Earthquake. But Earthquake will be killed at Summer Slam at the end of this month, which would imply that Tugboat would eventually have to do a heel turn to give us a new heel big guy. That may be put off for a while if Bundy comes in. - Yep, Jesse is gone. He cleaned out his locker room last night and bids farewell to the WWF tomorrow morning. As reported by others, Jesse and Vince had a falling out which left Jesse with no alternative but leaving. Jesse's contract was up with the WWF and negotiations were not proceeding well. They ended up breaking down a couple of weeks back over a video computer deal. The Body had a deal offered to him to lend his name to a home video game. But Vince said no, since he has a direct deal with Nintento. I'm sure everyone recalls the similar situation from several years back. Sgt. Slaughter, now back in the WWF, had a pretty lucrative G.I. Joe deal amd Vince wanted his piece of the pie. Slaughter upped and quit. He's back now with the understanding that Vince will keep his fingers out of Slaughter's deals. Current word on announcing replacements for Jesse give the front-runners as Lord Alfred Hayes and Bobby Heenan. - Boy that Ultimate Warrior is popular! Did you see all the fans at the SNME taping that aired this past weekend that had Warrior face masks? Wow, it must be just the net that's down on the Warrior, right? Wrong. In order to give the appearance of popularity, Vince actually handed out some 11000 Warrior masks for free at the taping. Even if only half the people who received one wore it, it would still look impressive. Smooth, Vince. Real smooth. - Ric Flair should be back in action at the end of this month. It looks like his knee injury has developed a staph infection. Herb... P.S. I will be away from the University for the month of August, so in all likelihood there won't be any Wrestling TidBits for the next month (unless I manage to get near a terminal somewhere...). Have no fear, though, I will be back at the beginning of September - to start grad school - and my weekly postings will go into their 16th month at that time. Take care all. As always, comments, criticisms, and questions are encouraged and appreciated. *********************************************************************** * Herb Kunze * "Whether you like it or not, * * Applied Math Department * learn to live with it, 'cause * * University of Waterloo * I'm the best thing going today!" * * hekunze@watmsg.waterloo.edu * - Ric 'Nature Boy' Flair * * hekunze@water.waterloo.edu * * ***********************************************************************
