Also as Wade mentioned, Ole Anderson will be the single booker for the NWA. It seems that he'll slowly work himself out of the Horsemen's manager's position, but will stay on the commentary team on WWW. - As mentioned earlier in this week in the group, the Road Warriors seem to be WWF bound in the very near future. There is talk that Capital Combat was their last PPV appearance in the NWA and that they probably won't last through the summer. It's kind of funny since with Ole in as the booker, they may have received a massive push - Ole was booking during the period when the Legion of Doom was a really feared quantity. - Peggy Lee Leather beat Bambi for the US women's crown at Colonial Beach, Va. a short while ago. - Rumours have Junkfood Dog back in the NWA to take a run at Ric Flair. I guess when you make everyone a horseman and kill one of your two big faces while the other is still 'injured,' you're pushed to extremes. I was kinda hoping that the Steiners would split up and get a singles push. - This weekend - as if we couldn't guess - there'll be a confrontation on Brother Love's set when advertised guests Hulk Hogan and Earthquake butt heads. Seems that Hogan gets squashed (probably does a stretcher job) to set up his summer sabbatical from the ring. I guess this also implies that the Earthquake may get boosted to a title contender, although the Rude-Warrior program is meant to carry the summer. - With the apparent re-entry of Doug Furnas into the NWA, is there any mention of his tag partner from the Japanese rings, Dan Kroffat, joining the organization. This guy is one of the greatest wrestlers and workers I've ever seen - he deserves a spot in the North American national spotlight. With Owen Hart and Larry Cameron already coming in, I don't know if I (or Jim Herd) can handle any more quality arrivals. - Dusty Rhodes is back from his foot injury. Yeah ;-( - Apparantly Rick Rude will shortly be claiming that "Rude-A-Mania" is running rampant in the WWF. This sets the stage for either of two scenarios: 1) Rude fails to beat the Warrior throughout the summer, turns face (due to an error by Heenan?), and feuds Mr. Perfect perhaps with a Hulk Hogan endorsement to further face-ify him. 2) Since the Warrior's ability to carry the organization seems to be questionable, Rude takes the World strap away from him to help heat up the summer in the WWF. This sets up the battle of the century as Rude-A-Mania takes on Hulkamania when Hulk Hogan returns after the summer. Herb... As always, comments, criticisms, and questions are encouraged and appreciated. *********************************************************************** * Herb Kunze * "Whether you like it or not, * * Applied Math Department * learn to live with it, 'cause * * University of Waterloo * I'm the best thing going today!" * * hekunze@watmsg.waterloo.edu * - Ric 'Nature Boy' Flair * ***********************************************************************
