He apparently offerred an undercover policeman $5000 to kill the woman, 33. A down payment was made to the officer on Monday and John was arrested. Bonello, 36, has been charged with counselling first-degree murder. Bonello, who is a full-time worker at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft, wrestled professionally under the name The Maltese Falcon. He held the World Wide Sports tag team championship belt with Randy Scott in the 1970s. In 1984, he joined the WWF as a part-time referee, officiating mostly in Ontario, Canada. He also officiated at WrestleMania III and VI. - 63000 fans jammed the Tokyo Dome to witness what could be the beginning of the WWF invasion of Japan. The Ultimate Warrior heard cheers for the first time since defeating Hulk Hogan when he defended successfully against Ted DiBiase. The ever-popular Hulkster defeated Stan Hansen in the main event - Hansen was subbing for Terry Gordy. Genichiro Tenryu pinned Randy Savage. - Speaking of Randy Savage, the latest WWF scuttlebutt has it the Macho King is just not happy with the way is career is going in the WWF. Rumours are moderately strong that Savage is negotiating to jump ship, destination unknown. Imagine if Savage & Elizabeth show up in a different organization. - Re: Sapphire's background. Sapphire is not a wrestler - surprise! - but she is a long-time wrestling fan. Her real name is Juanita Wright, hailing from St. Louis. She seems to have just been pulled into the game by Vince, much like Hillbilly Jim several years ago. Hopefully she'll go the same route as Hillbilly Jim and disappear. Vince has decided that a match between Sherri Martel and Sapphire will draw - watch for this drivel coming to a fine arena near you. - Terry Gordy's son, Rich Flinger, has signed with the WWF. I don't know anything about him, though. - Larry Zbyszko did, in fact, regain the AWA strap from Masa Saito on the weekend in St. Paul. - It looks like when the Bolsheviks break up, Nicholai Volkoff will be the face. Does that mean we can't boo him during the Russian anthem? - Ric Flair defends against Lex Luger at the Meadowlands on April 26th. This was the card where Flair was rumoured to be dropping the title to Lex, prior to jumping to the WWF. However, recent mention of Flair signing a two-year deal with the NWA in this newsgroup (I have yet to hear this news anywhere else; I still have only heard that Flair's request for a two-year extension of his contract was rejected. As far as I know he still wrestling without a contract) and the fact that the cage match at Capital Combat on May 19th is pretty much set makes one wonder what will happen at this card next week. By the way, look for Terry Funk to be appointed special referee for the Flair-Luger cage match. Finally, I will be absent from the network for the next two weeks or so. I have just completed my undergraduate degree and have a couple of weeks off before I begin my summer research job at the University. I'll probably be far removed from terminal access until early May when the Tidbits column will resume its weekly schedule. Herb...
