Lead story is Brian Pillman's auto accident of 6 days ago. Marvez has no real new info to share, but runs down the details one more time (just in case you haven't been reading your RSPW): Pillman is OK and has returned home after he was thrown 40 feet from his vehicle in an accident near his home in Walton, KY. He broke his ankle, nose, and cheekbone, and will be sidelined at least three months. Marvez notes that Pillman's WCW contract has expired, and that the WWF is interested in signing Pillman. * Hulk Hogan is continuing to assert his booking power in undesirable ways... on the 4/15 Nitro, Hogan was scheduled to do a stretcher job to explain a 4 month absense while he was off making a movie. Hogan changed that to him squashing three of WCW's top heels, looking "even worse than usual," according to Marvez. This is continuing to cause friction at the top of the WCW power structure. * On 4/15, WWF RAW beat WCW Nitro again; WCW is responding with loaded shows (Flair/Giant vs. Luger/Sting rematch this week, Giant vs. Flair for the title next week). Some other bits of info that might be of use to you kids: * The WWF had this to say about Goldust's recent injury in Germany: The GOLD is tarnished! While wrestling Razor Ramon in Dusseldorf, Germany, on April 13, World Wrestling Federation superstar Goldust suffered severe, multiple injuries to his leg. After being examined at a nearby hospital following the match, Goldust was advised to go home and see his personal physician. After examining the injured area, his doctor diagnosed him as having a torn hamstring, a torn calf muscle and damage to his medial collateral ligament and the medial meniscus cartilage. Even though surgery was not required, Goldust was advised to stay off the leg to let it heal, after which time he would need the appropriate physical therapy. At this time Goldust wanted to "assure his fans" that he does plan on making his April 28 In Your House match with the Ultimate Warrior. "I wouldn't miss that for the world," he stated. * Here is the full line-up of WWF PPV dates and sites for the rest of 1996: - In Your House Omaha, NE April 28, 1996 - WWF PPV Spectacular Florence, SC May 26, 1996 - King of the Ring Milwaukee, WI June 23, 1996 - WWF PPV Spectacular Vancouver, BC July 21, 1996 - Summerslam Cleveland, OH August 18, 1996 - WWF PPV Spectacular Philadelphia, PA September 22, 1996 - WWF PPV Spectacular Indianapolis, IN October 20, 1996 - Survivor Series MSG, New York City November 17, 1996 - WWF PPV Spectacular Lakeland, FL December 15, 1996 [A special note regarding KotR in Milwaukee: Tickets will go on sale to the public on May 4, 1996.
