I'm a day late. SUE ME! If you've ever seen footage on CNN of what goes on here at the U. of Dayton on St. Patrick's Day, you'll have a pretty good idea of what I was up to yesterday, anyway. I have a life. Do you? Har har. Just kidding, of course. Actually, had I posted this yesterday, I would have ruined Uncle Eric's INCREDIBLE surprise from Nitro. And lord knows, I wouldn't want to do that. Here's Marvez for this week: * Top story is Marc "Don't Call Me Johnny B. Badd" Mero's departure from WCW. We know it all, as Marc is a fellow 'netter! Even the usual staid Marvez notes that Bischoff's burying of Mero was classless in every way. Marvez jumps the gun by stating Mero's new gimmick will be "Marvelous Marc." As we know, this was only Marc's off-the-top-of-his-head early preference. In reality, no gimmick has been decided on (at least, it hasn't been conveyed to us, yet). * The Monday Night Wars will take a siesta in May, as TNT is obligated to show NBA play-off games on Monday nights. Marvez says as of now, it is likely that TNT will keep Nitro on Mondays, but give it a "floating" timeslot, anywhere from 7pm Eastern to 10:30pm Eastern, for the duration of the play-offs. * The Nasty Boys will be re-signing with WCW afterall. The money to sign Razor Ramon was freed up by letting the Nasties go... But with Badd taking off, that money is available again. [My question: So where is the money to sign Kevin Nash coming from?] * WCW is bringing in Tiny "Zeus" Lister and some other guys (sorry kids... I don't have the article with me anymroe, and I forgot the other names already) to feud with Hogan. Actually, they are going to change the 4-on-1 match at Uncensored to 8-on-2, using the new guys, and teaming Hogan with Savage. [Actaully, I think Marvez probably means Beefacake. But who am I to question him?] * Marvez says that Pillman was really ejected from the building last week on Nitro, cuz Dillinger and Orndorff didn't know that this is an angle yet. Whatever. And Pillman really did have throat surgery last week (very minor), but it had nothing to do with the removal from the building (which Pillmans' wife had indicated on AOL). It was routine surgery for Pillman's previously discussed larnyx problems. That's all for Marvez... didn't have much chance to check out AOL this week, so nothing from Georgie. Except this one outrageous rumor that is sure to spread like wildfire all over the 'net: * David Letterman is the rumored host for the 1996 WWF Slammys. Really! I'm not making this up. Neither Georgie, nor I, vouch for the truth of this rumor. But people are talking, and it's my job to get the all the dirt I can. Propagate this rumor at *your* own risk.
