Now. Dammit. First up, is the recap of Alex Marvez's weekly Dayton Daily News column: * Lead-off item discusses Elizabeth's return to WCW. She is back, but she and Savage are NOT, by any stretch, an "item." Look for Liz to get involved in some kind of angle with Woman and Linda Hogan. (On a side note, Marvez said that Liz spent her "retirement" working in a clothing store in North Miami Beach, where she could usually maintain anonymity; this according to a 1994 interview.) * Next up is a rundown of the Vader situation in the WWF. Vader's suspension is a cover for Vader to get much needed shoulder surgery out of the way. He should be ready for WrestleMania, where it is planned that his feud with Yokozuna will take off in earnest. * On a related note, Vader's destruction of Interim WWF Figure Head, Gorilla Monsoon, means that a new president will be named tommorrow on RAW. It will be Roddy Piper. Look for Piper to announce new policies that will "justify" more violent matches in the months to come. * After their two back-to-back live shows, WCW officials are legit worried about Brian Pillman's "looses cannon" tendancies. According to marvez, when Bischoff pulled the mic away from Pillman at the Clash, it wasn't part of the work to get Pillman's gimmick over. It was cuz Bischoff was really worried about what Pillman might say. Also, Pillman had no business putting his hands on Heenan, says Marvez. Heenan is "hands off" due to legit (and serious) neck surgery The Brain has undergone in recent years. Pillman and Heenan had not, as of today, smoothed out the legit heat that arose from that situation. [Pillman is heel of the year, in my book.... he's playing the part so well, he's even got his damned weasel-boy of a boss "marking out"!] * Finally, there were some MAJOR shakes going on backstage in Vegas... Ric Flair actually quit WCW Monday Night after the Nitro broadcast. Not only was he upset that he was asked to cheapen his latest (and possibly last) title reign by dropping to strap to Macho less than a month after winning it, he was hot because the title match wasn't even the headliner of the show. Only the promise of getting the pinfall over Savage the next night on the Clash brought Flair back for the Tuesday night show. Marvez suggests, though, that all may not be well, as it is entirely possible that Flair might react adversely if he is asked to job to Hogan again on Nitro. Stay tuned. * Actually two more mini-tidbits from Marvez: First, WCW has absolutley no plans, nor desire, to bring Paul Ellering back with the Road Warriors. Too expensive. [Can someone explain the logic of paying Hogan 7 figures per year, and then not sign a cool manager who would command only a couple hundred bucks per appearance?] * A final item of interest to those of you from the Dayton, or southwest Ohio, area. Or those of you with no problems racking up long distance charges. You can hear portions of Alex's interview with WCW Executive Vice Rodent in Charge of Being an Asswipe, Eric Bischoff (yeah, so I made his title up.... sue me!) by calling (513)463-4636 and entering code 3036. Try it, it's pretty cool. Well, it is still Bischoff, so it's not cool, per se.... but well, you know.... Other information, mostly stolen from the finest damn wrestling folder on all of America On-Line, Georgie's Chatterbox: * Razor Ramon has been missing dates this week due to announced "personal problems." This is not smoke screen, as Razor's son, Cody, has been hospitalized for reasons as yet unknown. Razor is, understandably, with his son, not on the road. * Remember all those babes who formed Randy Savage's entourage at the two Vegas WCW shows? Well, some of the entourage were: Linda Hogan (Hulk's wife), Woman (Kevin Sullivan's wife), Hogan's sister-in-law, and Steve McMoron's wife. * ECW is serious about going forward with a PPV. Georgie reports that Sabu has been told that the PPV will happen before July 13, 1996. And remember, Sabu has been promised a spot in the main event. * More theories are swirling about Heenan wanting out of his WCW contract, possibly resurfacing in the WWF.... * Both Hakushi and Diesel are going to become fathers soon. So is Hakushi disappears around mid-March, or Diesel takes time off in May, don't be shocked. * Look for Tatanka to be gone again from the WWF by WM time. He is only in for about 3 months, and plans to return to his pursuit of an independent business of some kind. * Finally, while perusing Johnny B. Badd's folder on AOL, I noticed some things. For one thing, JBB did a 10-second squash job to the Giant in a dark match at one of the Vegas shows. In a post to AOL, he said he understood getting the big guy over, but that what he was asked to do was ridiculous. He further noted that it would have lasted longer if it was a shoot. Other posts indicated frustration with the fact that at no point in 3 hours of live wrestling from Vegas did WCW see fit to let their TV Champ wrestle a match and with the general lack of opportunity JBB is getting to showcase his talents against the newer, younger crop of workers from WCW. Note that there is really no news here; you should go making your own up! I only offer this interpretations of JBB posts because they mark the first time I've ever noticed JBB being anything less than a perfect company man; and he's mentioned more than once that his contract is up before mid-year.
