Marvez's column was easily the least informative in recent mememory. Here are the highlights: * Lead story is that the Shawn angle on RAW was just that: a worked angle. Marvez then launches into a totally misguided tirade (much like many of you right here on RSPW!) about how the ultra-realistic angle was lame and pointless, and how it did not translate into ratings. [Well, DUH!, Alex. It's not like they could advertise, "Tune in to RAW this week, as we fake the near-death of the HB Kid, Shawn Michaels" to lure viewers.... the real test will be to see if the RAW replay and upcoming RAW shows garner better ratings in light of the incident.] * Secondary story is about WW3 tonight. Flair *should* be cleared to compete tonight following his injury; this is not what we've been hearing here, which makes it espeically worth noting. Marvez also says that the firmest rumors about the WW3 battle royal for the WCW title have the match concluding with Sting, Luger, and the Giant battling it out, and all going over the top rope at the same time. Thus, the title would reamin held up and be awarded to the winner of a triangle match between the three at the next PPV. [So WCW starts ripping off old WWF angles from more and more recent memory, eh?] * Other "grappling gems": Dean Douglas and Kama are likely to be departing the WWF in the near future. [In both cases, it seems like no loss... Kama is not a very interesting nor talented guy. And Titan simply wasted Douglas; if Shane can exit quickly, he can probably still salvage a future in wrestling, should his med school plans not pan out.] No other news this week, really.... except that a bunch of us rented WrestleMania the Arcade Game for Sega Genesis this weekend (what a hell of a Thanksgiving break I had, huh?), and found it to be a fairly entertaining diversion. It's easily the best wrestling game on the market (well, the US market.... I keep hearing about this NJ wrestling game, but have not been fortunate to figure out how to get to play it), and found Shawn Michael's arsenal of a Frankensteiner and a German/Dragon Suplex (hard to tell if it was just a simple waist lock, or if Michaels put a full-nelson on before doing the suplex on the game) to be most fun. Bam Bam's tigerdriver/double-underhook suplex lookin' move was also cool. Still, the game could not match the reigning Sega champion of Wasted Time, Coach K Basketball '95, for sheer addictability; I swear that between the 15 or so people who frequently use the community Sega, we play 6 hours (easily!) of Coach K every day, and have for almost 8 months now. We are sick! Bottom line: give WrestleMania the Arcade Game a try. But you might want to save some dough for when Coach K '96 is released. :) Later.... -- Rick Scaia | "Barkeep...
