Marvez dedicates much of the column this week to Luger's surprise jump. Here are the highlights: * In analyzing Luger's jump, Marvez states that WCW's primary motivation for sweetening the offer Luger turned down back in early August was the VERY questionable status of Vader. It was Vader who was scheduled for the Nitro confrontation with Hogan, and Luger was plugged into that slot. Marvez takes his thinking a step beyond, and proposes that tonight's match may end with Hogan and Luger shaking hands; some excuse would be concocted for Vader disappearing, and Luger would be asked by Hogan to join the team for War Games. This actually makes good deal of sense; Luger never did anything heelish... he *did* clear the ring of the DoD... he never said Hogan sucked or anything... he just said he wanted a shot at Hogan's belt. Luger could come out of this a face, teaming with Hogan, afterall. * An offshoot of this is that Marvez thinks it is VERY likely that Titan will be attempting to sign Vader to retaliate. I'll be pleasantly surprised to see that happen. * Marvez did have the line-ups for Nitro for the next 3 weeks or so. I am surprised at how weak they are. A solitary Flair vs. Anderson match is the only real highlight. Stuff like Meng vs. Vader (probably switched to Luger), and Badd vs. Page is more common. No Sabu (after tonight), no Benoit, no Guerreo, no Malenko, no Liger.... I would have hoped for at least one good match pre show. I don't have the paper in front of me, so I can't give you the complete and exact line-ups for the next three weeks. Sorry. * In his fan question, Marvez revelas that Isaac Yankem is SMW's Unabomb. He says that Lawler had brought Jacobs into the WWF to fight Bret Hart, but that Jacobs was wearing a mask at the time. I guess he's talking about the Knights angle at Survivor Series '93. He didn't answer the question I asked of him, which was whether he still was putting out a sheet or not. I was told by a fellow netter to ask that. :) Later.... -- Rick Scaia | The Large-Hearted Boy | Hmmmmmm... ag725@freenet.carleton.ca | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
