These five are: Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, 2 Cold Scorpio, and Sabu. While Marvez does not play up the fact that these guys were basically forced into WCW bookings, he does mention that it was pressure from the New Japan office that facilitated the signings. Up till now, I was not aware that Scorpio was part of the mass ECW defection.... Marvez does mini-bios on all five (nothing we don't already know). * Sabu's first WCW booking is for the September 11 Nitro show. He will face Alex Wright. [If Wright does a clean job and is utterly destroyed, I will renounce the Hot Poker system of rating matches for the remainder of Nitro's run! But why am I so sure that this match will either be a screwjob or a lame-ass draw???] * Mike Rotundo is actually going to *wrestle* in WCW... his job is not in the front office. He will return to the "Michael Wallstreet" gimmick, and will team with Big Bubba. Together, they will be known as the CPAs (Certified Public Assassins). * WCW is thinking about bringing Lanny Poffo in as Gorgeous George, Jr. Who said nepotism is dead? [And I thought we were up to *at least* Gorgeous George III, already!] * Lex Luger, Owen Hart, and Adam Bomb have all given their notice to the WWF. [Well, two out of three ain't bad.....] * This week's Fan Question is from a guy who wants to know if the WWF's "Dean" Douglas is actually ECW's Shane Douglas. Of course, it is, chump! If you'd like to leave Marvez a more intelligent question, you can do so by calling (513)436-4636, and enter code 3036; leave your name, hometown, and phone number, and press the star key when finished. Hell, the DDN sports department has an e-mail address; I'm sure friendly mail sent to "sports@dni.com" would find it's way to Mr. Marvez. Or maybe it would just piss off the "legit" sports guys in charge...
